Production Bases

Jiangsu has quickened her pace to build production bases focusing on regional specialization, optimum scale, quality-orientation and product specialization. The high-quality rice, specialized wheat, double-low rapeseeds, long-staple cotton, three-way crossed lean pigs, improved local poultry, hybrid Boar goats, special vegetables, ornamental plants and fashionable fruits are gaining incremental market share. The production bases have emerged to meet the standards of food safety, minimum chemical application and organic farming.

Food Safety Standards

Jiangsu has issued a series of provincial codes for food safety, environment of origin, and technical standardization. A number of provincial and municipal pilot production bases have been built to the food safety standards.

Quality Control and Monitoring System

Jiangsu has developed an adequate monitoring network of agricultural produce quality, with the provincial monitoring center of agricultural ecology and environment, the provincial central Laboratories for examination of agricultural, livestock and fishery produces, and the regional laboratories for agricultural produces.
